Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is ready to step back into the "Spotlight," and just in time for the Grammys.
The songstress is set to perform at the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year gala in Los Angeles Feb. 6, two days before the Recording Academy's big awards show. The event marks Hudson's first public appearance since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October.
The Dreamgirls Oscar winner joins Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Adele, Tim McGraw, Josh Groban and Raul Malo on the performance docket for the fund-raising fete honoring Neil Diamond.
Two nights later, Hudson will find out if she gets to take home any of the four gongs she's up for, including Best R&B Album for her eponymous release.
"It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing," she said in a statement following the nominations

It's good to know that she feels up to singing on stage again. I really hope people don't pressure her with questions about her deceased family members, when she does interviews on the red carpet.
1I also hope they don't ask her questions. I'm so happy she is going to perform again.
2I agree. I think they should just leave her alone and let her perform. I don't even think she should walk the carpet; the reporters are ruthless a*holes, they don't really care.
