NBA legend Magic Johnson knows a thing or two about playing in the spotlight – and he says Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback and Jessica Simpson's boyfriend – can handle the hype too.
The former Laker, who brought "Showtime" basketball to L.A., visited Romo at the Cowboys' training camp Wednesday in Oxnard, Calif.
"I think he's doing great," Johnson, 48, said of the 28-year-old football star. "With everything that has been thrown at him, if you remember back with the fumble [that cost the Cowboys a playoff win in 2007], and now Jessica, I think he's done an incredible job. All Tony has to do now is just win."
Johnson wasn't the only celebrity to stop by training camp. Rob Lowe came with his son John, 12, and two other boys – all wearing blue baseball hats with the letter "D" – and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx walked onto the field with a small entourage.
But it was Magic who got the fans and players the most excited. The circus-like atmosphere at the camp is only the beginning, he noted: "I told them all, 'If you think you're big now [with] all this media hype, win the Super Bowl and you'll see what media hype is.'
